The Star-of-Betlehem is a species that occurs in the wild in the Netherlands and is also on the Red list of endangered plant species. The Star-of-Betlehem needs a more sunnier place than most other types of Stinzenplants. The flowers close at night and also when there is insufficient sunlight. Because the flowering takes place late in the season, the plant only thrives if it is not overgrown by high growing grass or Ground Elder.

Dekema State and Stinze Stiens are interesting places to see the Star-of-Betlehem.
