Common Lungwort herb is not a bulbous or tuberous plant, but it often occurs in Stinzen environments. When competing species are eliminated by more intensive gardening, large spots with Common Lungwort can be formed. Flowering Common Lungwort attracts many insects. In a more natural environment, large growth areas will not easily arise. The size of the plant also strongly depends on the growing conditions. With gardening and more light, the plant can grow considerably.

Common Lungwort is present at Dekema State, Jongemastate, Martenatuin (Franeker) and Stinze Stiens.
