Not only one, but several Wild tulips start to get yellow buds, Dekema State next to the drive way on the south slope near the ditch.
The progress last week was a bit less than we had expected. Nevertheless, developments continue and the spring has now officially begun.Â

The first flowers of the Wild tulip at Dekema State already got a bit of the beautiful yellow color and that will be more in the coming period. Possibly they will open in the sun next week.
The Squills still flower in different places, but Philippusfenne expects that it will decrease in the coming week as well as the bloom of the Glory-of-the-snow.
The Bulbous Corydalis and Bird in a bush both come more and more above the ground and in bloom. Next week, they are expected to flourish in full on the various terrains. In nature, usually only one of both species occurs in the same place. The Bird in a bush usually grows on somewhat lighter soil in nature, while the Bulbous Corydalis prefers loam or clay soil. Both can occur at the same time in the more artificial environment of a park or garden.

The details of Bird in a bush at Martenastate can be well observed in this close up photo. Seed pods of Snowdrops in the background.
Most locations of the Stinzenflora-monitor have both types: Dekema State, Hackfort, Philippusfenne, Jongema State, Martena garden, Martenastate.

At Stinze-Stiens, however, only the Bulbous Corydalis occurs.

Despite digging up the corms of the Bulbous Corydalis, it starts to flower again in the flower garden at Dekema State.

The corm of Bulbous Corydalis appeared during the renovation of the flower garden’, said Dekema State in a tweet, 2 November 2018. ‘It will get a nice hew place in the shade in the flower garden.
Dekema State tried last year to remove the Bulbous Corydalis from a flower bed. That did not really work. In general you can say that it is very difficult and very labor intensive to get rid of a Stinzenplant that has established itself well. It is therefore wise to think carefully before introducing a new variety. Be careful with varieties such as Few-flowered Garlic, Bearâs Garlic or Three-cornered leek. All these types of garlic can start to proliferate in such way that they may become a nuisance.
The White Butterbur is now nicely in bloom at Dekema State. At Jongemastate this is already past its peak. Soon the beautiful olive-green leaves will come. The leaves are moderate in size, up to approx. 30 cm. high, in comparison with the Butterbur, which we do not consider as a Stinzenplant but which one can see on or near such sites. Jongemastate recently sent a photo of the Butterbur along the waterfront and Martenastate made a nice close up picture of the flower.
Hackfort reports the flowering of the Meadow Gagea while the Yellow Star-of-Bethlehem is still in bloom at the Schierstins. The different types of Gagea are very special plants that people often appreciate very much.
At Hackfort the Wood Anemones start to bloom and that colours nicely with the Bird in a bush and Bulbous Corydalis. The Frittillaria imperialis plants at Jongemastate are in bloom.
In many areas there are various older varieties of Narcissus, which are increasingly coming into bloom. The Wild Daffodil, which occurs at Stinze Stiens, is also in full bloom.
